Gigi's Cupcakes Creates Band Perry Cupcake

With a brand new album coming out tomorrow, The Band Perry certainly have plenty to celebrate! So cut the cake – cupcake that is! Not only is the band celebrating their sophomore album, but they’re also celebrating a very special cupcake named after them.

Gigi’s cupcakes (amazing by the way) has created the Very Perry Chocolate Cherry cupcake in honor of one of Nashville’s hottest acts. Kimberly Perry explains why a cherry inspired treat was the obvious flavor choice.

“I’ve always wanted Cherry to be my name,” Kimberly says. The reason stemming from Cherry Valance in the novel, The Outsiders. “She’s always been one of my favorite heroines in literature.” The name “Cherry” also appears on their upcoming album Pioneer on the track “I’m a Keeper.”

In a video (click HERE to watch) about the making of The Band Perry/Gigi’s Cupcake partnership, the singers reveal they were part of the creative process including taste testing the different flavor options. Obviously, the band has offered their tasting services for future cupcake trials.

The Very Perry Chocolate Cherry cupcake (available at Gigi’s Friday’s and Saturdays) is a vanilla cake with maraschino cherries baked into the batter. The cake it topped with Gigi’s signature swirl of chocolate frosting, laced with a chocolate drizzle, and finished with a cherry right on top. Drooling yet?
