Hunter Hayes Interview

I saw Hunter Hayes months ago from a distance while visiting the St. Jude Children’s Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. I immediately reverted to a 12 year old girl too shy and starstruck to walk over and say hi. Needless to say, I’m a big fan. Last night was two firsts for me: interviewing an artist who I truly admire and seeing Hunter Hayes perform live. Honestly, I wish the order of those events had been reversed. Hunter and I had a lovely (and long) conversation about his new song, his music inspirations, and Stevie Wonder, but if I had seen him perform before I asked the questions, the interview would have been much different. I just sat there in my seat when he finished thinking over and over: this kid is the real deal. You’ll hear in the interview how passionate Hunter is about his music (which is why I left the interview almost in it’s entirety) but watch him perform and you’ll see his love and passion shine through every note he plays. I’m dying to ask him where all that comes from. Maybe next time.
