Chris Brown Wants To Sing Country Music

Usually I’m all for artists who want to crossover and create music outside of their respective genres, but other times I feel some artists should stay put. Hip-hop artist Chris Brown would be one of those that should continue being a hip-hop artist in my opinion.

But Brown says he might want to venture into the country music scene. In an interview with a Charlotte, North Carolina radio station, Brown says, “I want to always be able to do any kind of music I want. When I get older, I might want to do a country album.”

Say whaaa… Would country music fans latch on to Chris Brown the country singer? My guess is a big no. I can’t imagine Brown gaining a country fan base even years after his assault on his on again/off again girlfriend, singer Rihanna. And the odds stack even further against him considering the feud between him and Miranda Lambert last year on the very same subject. If there’s one thing country music fans won’t do, it’s side with Chris Brown on that battle. I just can’t see a country career in Chris Brown’s future.
