After 700 million votes, the people have spoken. And their country choices for the 2014 People’s Choice Awards are Tim McGraw and Taylor Swift.
Swift beat out several other deserving country artists including Blake Shelton, Carrie Underwood, The Band Perry and Lady Antebellum, to pick up her fifth People’s Choice Award for Favorite Country Artist.
McGraw snagged the Country Music Icon award over Alan Jackson, George Straight and Toby Keith. This award comes 10 years after McGraw won his first People’s Choice Awards for Favorite Country Artist award back in 2004.
It was a big night for McGraw and Swift, but Blake Shelton actually scored most nominations for a country artist with three. He eventually lost in all categories. However, the Voice did pick up the award for Favorite Competition TV Show, so technically he got a win there.
