After a 7 year hiatus, country music star Lee Ann Womack is back on the country radar! She’s got a new album and she’s got some harsh opinions on today’s country music!

In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Lee Ann talks about bro country. "It's true, trucks are a part of a lot of people's lives. My first car was a Ford pickup. But it's like we've gone from making music to making something else.”

“The things that make country unique are what make it cool.” she continues. “But no one's interested in doing that anymore. It seems like people don't give two shits about country music but they move [to Nashville] and make what they want to make."

Lee Ann insists she’s not afraid of her new music fitting in with modern country music.

“It's totally different from everything else that comes across your desk,” she says. “It's just a lyric, a melody, a singer and a guitar."

Her new album, The Way I’m Livin’, is available now on iTunes.

Do you agree with Lee Ann’s thoughts on modern country music?
